Addis Ababa June 15/2024 (ENA) The 3rd annual forum for Regional Integration and Reasonable Utilization of the Nile (AFRI-RUN III) kicked off in Addis Ababa today.

Foreign Affairs Institute organized the forum in collaboration with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Water and Energy.

The forum is underway under the theme “Shared Resources for Shared Future and Prosperity: Cooperation and Regional Integration through Equitable and Reasonable Utilization of the Nile”

High ranking government officials, representatives of Nile Basin countries, diplomats, scholars and other invited guests are in attendance.

The forum is expected to exchange views among members of the basin on ways to enhancing cooperation and coordination to ensuring the equitable utilization the Nile River and regional integration, according to the Foreign Affairs Institute.

It is also expected to highlight the importance of hydropower resources as an mechanism to expediting regional integration and cooperation as well as challenges of climate change.
